Biography
Second Lieutenant George Ward Gunn VC MC was a British Army officer and an English recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC). This prestigious decoration is the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces.
During his service in the British Army's Royal Artillery, Gunn demonstrated exceptional bravery under fire, earning both the Victoria Cross and the Military Cross for his actions.
His legacy is preserved at the Royal Artillery Museum in Woolwich, England, where his Victoria Cross is currently displayed to honor his heroic actions and memory.
